FoilSim - Basic Aerodynamics Software: "FoilSim, developed at the NASA Glenn Research Center, is an interactive simulation software that determines the airflow around various shapes of airfoils. The software was created to address national edcuation standards." This program is public domain (FREE!) and versions are available for Macintosh and Windows 3.x/95/98/NT, as well as an online Java applet.

SPARK: Student Program for Aeronautics Resources for Knowledge - U. of Idaho: For high school level, applies math and science to aeronautics design
SOFIA - Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy: "SOFIA [is a] Boeing 747-SP aircraft modified to accommodate a 2.5 meter reflecting telescope. SOFIA will be the largest airborne telescope in the world, and will make observations that are impossible for even the largest and highest of ground-based telescopes. . . . SOFIA will be based at NASA's Ames Research Center near Mountain View, CA, and is expected begin flying in the year 2001."
