(Official notification to of GATE 2018 is out now, Check the Important dates) Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering OR GATE 2018 exam is conducted by IISc and IIT combined. The process of GATE 2018 exam, Starts with the online submission of the GATE 2018 Application Form which starts from the month of September every year. Every year one of the 7 IIT’s and IISc (Indian School of Science) look after the whole selection process of the exam and in 2017 it was IIT Roorkee who is taking care of all the exam process.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is an examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of the students in various subjects in Engineering and at postgraduate level subjects in Science. Your GATE score card will be used for admission to Post-graduate education like M.E/ P.hd/ M.Tech etc. Apart from that nowadays some Public and Private sector organizations are taking the score for employment in India. So, It becomes crucial for every Technical graduate to score high in this prestigious examination. Last year approx 9 Lakhs Candidates have appeared in this prestigious after entrance examination. This exam is conducted across 197 cities in India and 6 International cities namely-

GATE 2018 Eligibility
It’s very important to check the eligibility before applying for the examination. In this section, We are going to explain the GATE 2018 eligibility to help you find if you are qualified to participate in the examination or not.

Gate Papers
You can participate in only one Paper out of the 23 papers. So, It becomes very crucial to choose the Papers very carefully because once you selected the preferred paper and submitted the application form then it will not be possible to change that anyhow. GATE examination consists of 65 questions that carry 100 marks. Along with the chosen discipline GATE examination will also consist of questions from General Aptitude (GA) and Engineering Mathematics. The list of the 23 GATE Exam papers is given below

How to fill Application Form
All the applicants are required to apply online for the GATE examination. Do check the supporting documents/ Application fee and other details below before applying. The Registration link will be updated as soon as the official site brings the notification for GATE 2018 exam.

Supporting Documents
Following data will be required while filling the form online
- High-quality image of your photograph
- A high-quality image of your Signature.
- Scanned copy of Degree Certificate or mark sheet of previous semester/year (for final year candidates) in pdf format.
- Scanned copy of Category/ PwD Certificate in PDF format.
- Details of the valid ID Proof that you will carry to the examination hall.
Admit card-
The GATE admit card can only be downloaded from the official GATE Portal starting from the 1st wee of the January 2018 (The exact date will be updated after the official declaration). Admit Card shall not be sent via Post/ Email anyhow. It is necessary to bring a colored printout of the Admit Card at the entrance exam center with the original and valid photo identification photocopy. It must be that the details of which you had uploaded while filling the online GATE 2018 form. and the Candidates will not be permitted to participate in the examination of the Original and valid photo identification is not presented during the examination.
GATE 2018 Result-
GATE results will be announced until the last week of the March 2018. After that, the process of counseling will begin as per the cut-off marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance exam. We will cover the whole process of the counseling in a different post and that will be updated soon.
